I think it's very to catch up with the trend of the times, learn new skills to adapt to the rapid development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It is noteworthy the creativity in the future will become one of the three essential skills.Physical workload can be finished with the help of robots, people can spend more energy on innovation and reform.

Impressive changing of Creative, which jumps from No.10 to No.3 from the comparison. I think it's make sense since the world are accelerated changing, there are more and more uncertainties stand before us. Creative people are better able to live with uncertainty because they can adapt their thinking and figure out new solutions.

Nowadays , concerns that human being will be replaced by robots in some occupation such as workers, cleaners , drivers are taken notice in public, which means fewer jobs and more competition in future . Therefore, to keep up the trend and gain more competitive advantages , what kind of skill the individual should develop are listed in this passage . What catch my eyes most is the skills of creativity which will not be developed by robots . Frankly speaking, robots are not enemies for us, and it will be a long way to improve robots getting ability to think or learn. As we all know , Chinas manufacturing industry is booming, so it is the demands of times from traditional manufacturing to high-tech manufacturing industry. Instead of relying on the manpower, introducing robots into the manufacturing process will faster the high-tech pace of manufacturing industry. As for individuals, top 10 skills may be the guidance of personal development, and we keep up with the trend of times, learning more things about the high technology such as: advanced robotics and autonomous transport, artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced materials, biotechnology and genomics.

The world has changed rapidly along with the fast development on the internet industry and globalization. The industrical revolution would upgrade to a much more smart and intelligence level. It could predict that some of the labor-intensive jobs would be replaced to be conducted by smart robot or machine someday for sure. However, the jobs with much innovation invested which has radically distinguished human beings from robot and machine would hardly to be supersed. The ability of innovation would be the strong power to change the world and would be highly desired for further development. We need to recognize this and grow us into the conceptual age with more creativity and adaptability to be prepared for the new challenges during the revolution.

The innovation of products、procedures and even management behaviors can lead to the new business, which will bring high revenue. Steve Jobs, the former CEO of apple,is a good example of innovation. He started an age of smart mobile phones, and changed everyone’s life, which brought APPLE a great company these years. In my idea, creative thinking is very important in the future business management.

Company can replace human being to do a lot of things that challenges today's human being's competence. Being creative, emotional control, will not be replaced by computer as this can only be achieved by people. And, be prepared about one day there is one disruption in the industry that will remove your job. This is always the stage of industry development.

It seems that 'creativity' will gain more and more attention in the short future compared to the result of 2015. If you just stick to the current without thinking about how to create new things, quite probably that you will be passed by others. What's more, how to deal with people is still very important in future world, as we can see that 'people management', 'coordinating with others' and 'negotiation' are listed in the top 10. I hope that I can really remember these skills and try best to practice in that way, instead of just reading and then forgetting them.

I agree the importance of creativity in the future as article mentioned, but I don't think it's only important for the future, actually nowadays it already played the key role for the development of society. No matter first industrial revolution, the second or fourth revolution, creativity are all the driving factors. But yes, from skills for a job, creativity will become more and more important for individuals in the future.

Re: 2016- The 10 skills you need to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Post by HM-Mary SONG on Sun Sep 25, 2016 6:24 pm

The society keeps developing all the time. One of the most important reasons is that we human beings are the most advanced species in the world. Our brain is considered one of the most complex things in the universe. With the arrival of the Fourth Industry Revolution,as mentioned in the article, it will have brought us advanced robotics and autonomous transport, artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced materials, biotechnology and genomics. As a consequence, our way of life will be changed and transformed to a higher level. Some kind of jobs will disappear, for example very basic and simple tasks, which just need the system 1 function of human being brains, no need the calculation function at all.It is very possible these kind of jobs will be replaced by robots. So how to survive as human being in the coming new world, you might need to compete with robots? As human beings, we should strength our advantage as human beings. From my point of view, I think that creativity is the most important skill to have. Which I don‘t think that robot could have one day. The world is becoming more and more complex and competitive, imagine you are manufacturing the same products as your competitor, why customers choose you not the competitor?  Only when they consider that your product is differentiated with others which attracts them more. This calls on your creativity. It could be some creative actions on the product itself, or in the business process that makes customer feel the benefits to them more than others. To be creative is not only to create new things but also to connect existing things to upgrade.

I found that quality control disappeared in the list of top 10 skills in 2020. The reason is probably because it is replaced by some automatic programs and people only need to do it follow the instructions, it will because not so important in future.
And as a method of gathering data, active listening will be replaced by huge volume of data stored in cloud. We don't need to do it by human any more. What we need to is creative thinking based on all these data. And it is reasonable that it's not an easy work to deal with so much data.

After reading these article, I think in such a rapidly changing work environment, there is a kind of ability is more important for all stakeholders, this ability is to predict the future trend of employment from the point of view of knowledge and skills and needs.Only the integrated use of our wisdom in the mind, heart and soul, can we effectively address these challenges. To do this, I think we must develop and apply different kinds of ability to adapt the changing environment.

We keep hearing about the advances in technology and how these innovations will eliminate jobs. So, How will we humans add value? these 10 skills might be an answer, but so far we’ve mostly been looking for it in the wrong way. especially the creativity, after this course, we should learn some useful skills and techniques which will enable us to tap into that creative ‘right brain’ thinking and bring a new perspective to innovation, problem-solving and managing change. of course ,other skill, such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, is also criteria skill that we should build or continue improve.

There's no doubt that in every industry revolution in the history of mankind, the major occupations were always shifting from one series of jobs to another series of jobs. Of course I do believe the same things will happen for the next 10 years during the 4th industrial revolution too. If the jobs are  shifting the certain skills will be changed also.
So what we need to do is trying to adpat with the changes.

Creativity will become one of the top ten skills the workers will need. With the avalanche of new products, new technologies and new ways of working, workers are going to have to become more creative in order to benefit from these changes. Similarly, active listening, considered a core skill today, will disappear completely from the top 10 skills. Emotional intelligence, which doesn’t feature in the top 10 today, will become one of the top skills needed by all.

I didn't agree some opinions mentioned above. Hard skills are the technical expertise and knowledge needed for a job. Soft skills are interpersonal qualities, also known as people skills, and personal attributes that one possesses. Business executives consider soft skills a very important attribute in job applicants. Employers want new employees to have strong soft skills, as well as hard skills. The active listening may not be disappeared if people need to communicate and cooperate in the future workplace.

The business of war would have moved into cyberspace and robotics...profits would be in dollars and oil , losses would be in humanity.
The business of love, compassion and sexual activity would long persist. Appropriate roles would have to be enacted.
I foresee plenty of pure Mathematics, Physics ,Chemistry and Biology based jobs... Making drugs to fight fictitious diseases driven by media and fever...
On the Information Technology Side:
1. Software/ hardware architecture, designprogramming, testing and documentation
2. Cybersecurity jobs: penentration testing , the entire cycle
3. Cloud , Networking/ Virtualization. Data analytics/DataScience, enterprise and customer
mobility applications development and support.
On the engineering side:
1. mechanical , civil, electrical design and maintainence
On the agricultural side:
Decentralized farming, fishing , food production, packaging , storage and delivery.

From this artcial I know creativity is one of important skills in the future, because the Knowledge Economy is gradually coming to a standstill,And knowledge alone no longer is a key differentiator in anenvironment where information is ubiquitous. Creativity is. It is what willseparate us from the crowd in the age of robots. At the same time, beingcreative helps us become a better problem solver in all areas of your life andwork. Creativity helps us see things differently and better deal with
uncertainty.
