[Discuss] How to think different and to be creative

Everyone knows being creative is important for both our work and our daily life. But how to think different? Can we use some methods to dig out more golden ideas?
Here I suggest GOLDEN approaches, summarized by myself, to this question. Hope to inspire you and let's disscus together.

Grafting
Sometimes, we can move our attention away from what we focus on. Many interesting things can be found in other fields. For example, when most of tranditional commercial banks pay more attention to financial products(理财产品), internet financial products, such as YUEBAO(余额宝), change the rule.

Oppsite view
Generally speaking, there is no absolute opposite. Suppose you stand on another side, different ideas may occur you. For example, Tesla selects high-end Electric Vehicle (EV) as target market, when most of other companies are focusing on making cost-efficient EVs.

Lazy thinking
Thinking like a lazy people, not lazy to think! It makes you greedy to simplify things. For example, voice recognition can help you easily deliver your orders to intelligent equipments without manual operation when inconvenient.
By the way, physical exercise is also encouraged.

Dynamic
Everything's changing. Considering future trend may broaden your eyes to think visionary. For example, Google driverless car is an interesting stuff, which may be popular in the future.

Emotion
People will be definitely touched, if your ideas offers sincere care on their feelings. For example, an advertisement of TOSHIBA LED (because I am not allowed to post external links, please search "东芝 LED 10年 广告" from YOUKU to watch the video)

Niche market
Try to refine specific demands. Customized solution can help to grab more eyeballs. For example, Coca-cola Zero.

We learnt from the last class, let's break our "bubble". Change from our life firstly.

Just challenge your comfortable zone and try something new as possible as you can.

The only thing in the world that never changes is CHANGE!

What makes us different depend on how we think.
Let us try to make a small change every day on every pieces of routine workings.

It's really a not-easy answer question.

We have been asking to study since born. The reason is simple - we learn more to create more. But most of time knowledge itself can be a box/bubble outside ourselves, because most knowledge comes from experience generation after generation and those experience will sometimes limit your personal thinking, especially when it comes to a different background but someone just apply without thinking.

Why would that happen? ThinkPAD!

We have been putting in a cramming study environment since a fellow boy. Only what teachers or elders said is correct. long time later, our ThinkPAD is firmly formed. In China we always follow guru's direction rather than challenge the world.Thus, to think different we have to form a new and health education system since kindergarden, especially from the family.

Do you think Bill gates, Steve jobs, Jak Ma can be copied? NO! they can only be brough up.

Be familiar and make connections

Sometimes why people don't want to change is because they don't want to leave their comfortable zone or fear of the changes. Imagine about those changes during your life, e.g children go to school on their first day, you jump to another company which will create a totally unfamiliar working environment and ecosystem, relocate to another city or even a foreign country which will make you uneasy and long time to adapt to it. However, if you try the changes, you may find a new way for your growth. This is also the same thing for the company business. Some companies rely on their legacy and comfort zone because of their good products before. But after the circle of innovation, their products are replaced by others' and their sales & margin drop quickly. It is the only way to keep on changing and changing!

To some extent, what we need is not to answer the question, but to learn something in the process to sovle the problems. The more difficult the problem is, the harder the process will be, the more precious experience we could get!

To some extent, what we need is not to answer the question, but to learn something in the process to sovle the problems. The more difficult the problem is, the harder the process will be, the more precious experience we could get!

And the BETTER thinking we would gained. As Prof. said,"If the thinkg is difficult, that means you have not understood it." BETTER thinking means a habit of breaking difficult things into fractal.

We need to conquer our innate fear of challenging the status quo and creating new things! The first step is to speak out whatever on your mind no matter how people laugh at you.

I have an idea to think differently and be creative is to keep a certain distance between the question or object you are thinking. Think as if you never know it and be fresh. Like TAiJi, forget the thing and restart.

Think one critical reason is to survive. Because the world and the whole sociaty is changing and moving forward. On one hand, humane creativity create the current world, on the other hand current world is pushing humane to become more and more creative to mor forward. That's the way the humane sociaty never stops.

To think different and to be creative, I think the first thing is do not set rule for them, giving up kind of Golden approaches, just thinking-making notes-and thinking. Normally, we are burdened in thinking creativity becasue we are easily to judege the result by our knowledge. When we ourselves think it is impossible to achieve we will discard the idea quickly, and we make constraint for oursleves.

The deep impression to me is the last class we were requried to write down a crazy crazy crazy idea, when our group wrote a joking idea we really don't know how other group can make them into possible. However, the other did it and makes the value of idea and activities sounds reasonable and possible. That is amazing!

It’s a very good question to arouse us to think. I think maybe we can retain a childlike innocence at any age. Children are always curious about the things around them and love to ask a hundred thousand ‘whys’. They are artist naturally and their words often surprise you. Ask more whys about things whether you are familiar with or not. Look at them without no biases, no labels. Use our heart to perceive people and things around us. This just reminds me of a book called the Art of Travel wrote by Alain de Botton. In the last chapter of the book, Alain referred to another author who was not only a great traveler in the classic sense, but a room-traveler. This guy undertook a journey around his bedroom, later entitling the account of what he had seen Journey around My Bedroom. In his book, he wrote “If only we could apply a travelling mindset to our own locales, we might find these places becoming no less interesting than the high mountain passes and butterfly-filled jungles of Humboldt’s South America.” Just as Pro. Ali taught us, find new things from our routine life.

Be open-minded to think on different opinions and thoughts, you will find amazing and cool ideas.

Today “Innovation” is the ONLY way for a company to survive. Following the general trend of internet keep the organization competitive and build to last. Gaining Market share does not guarantee sustainable success. But for the large organization only combined with its own advantages can contribute to success business transformation with necessary preparation, whereas declined consequently.

The connections among pieces can have varity of connection. The different connections between yours and others make you have different creativities. So I am trying to practise from daily tiny things. how about trying connect between shoes and food? The new connections makes what ...?
